Kelvin Capital appoints Gary Weir as Investment Analyst

Kelvin Capital has appointed Gary Weir as Investment Analyst, working alongside Directors Angus Hay, John McNicol and Susie Fisher in managing all aspects of the deal sourcing process, to build upon Kelvin Capital’s current investment portfolio of Scottish technology and life science businesses.

Gary graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in accountancy and finance and then went on to become a qualified chartered accountant in 2020. Since graduating, Gary has spent much of his career at Mazars LLP gaining experience in deal advisory positions as will as accounts and business advisory.

Founded in 2009 by John McNicol, Kelvin Capital has so far invested just over £100 million in globally ambitious companies with innovative, disruptive technologies and the potential to provide a significant return to investors. Kelvin Capital co-invest alongside Scottish Enterprise and several prominent private equity firms, such as Highland Tech, Maven Capital Partners and Par Equity to bring significant opportunities to its portfolio companies.
