Wellfish Tech Secures Partnership with Salmon Group

Salmon Group’s administration is based in Bergen and represents 40 owners and 62 food producing companies along the Norwegian coast. The network has a combined annual production of over 220,000 tonnes of salmon and trout, equivalent to over one billion meals.

The agreement is the largest in WellFish Tech’s history to date.

Under the partnership, WellFish Tech will work with the Salmon Group and its parent companies to provide systematic biomarker analysis based on blood biochemistry across the network of facilities and companies. This generates fish health data that provides the group with a comprehensive view of biological status across its entire production base. The data will serve both operational and regulatory purposes, supporting the member companies’ fish health reporting as well as their own biological decision-making processes.

A key element of the collaboration is the group view, which is tailored specifically for Salmon Group: a comprehensive overview of fish health data across all companies in the network. Where individual companies currently have access to their own biological status, the group view gives Salmon Group a comprehensive picture of the condition of the entire production base at the same time.

The value of this becomes particularly evident where member companies share a fjord system. Consolidated biological data provides a common factual basis for interaction between neighbouring locations, structured experience sharing between companies and coordinated action and contingency plans for biological challenges such as lice or disease. Salmon Group thus gains a collective resource that none of the member companies would have access to on their own.
